Aker Scarf Collection
Aker's new collection features some fabulous photos of scarves blowing in the wind (machine)! The flow of a scarf in the breeze is a most engaging sight.A silk scarf is made to float. In New York, I admit to following women for blocks out of my way just to admire the tails of their Hermes scarves fluttering in the 57th Street breeze.

Far From Heaven
Actually, pretty close to heaven............... the classic head scarf, flashing garter and lace stocking, to say nothing to the long leather gloves, this just might be one of the sexiest scarf photos of all time.

Blog Layout is Driving Me Crazy
I apologize for the Mad Men layout, actually, all the layouts. I can't figure out how to move photos to where I want them. Everything is vaguely acceptable but the Preview is totally wacky, type all over the place, photos jump around, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
"Men Like Scarves"
Mad Men, the television show set in the early 1960's "golden age" of Madison Avenue advertising, has provided a number of scarf scenes. This is from the first episode....

Another time, Peggy is gifted with an Hermes "Brides de Gala"scarf
Peggy wears her scarf on her head, pretending to be in a convertible car in a pitch for Aqua Net hair spray.

The ever bodacious Joan likes scarves also
A keen eye can spot women in the scene background with a head scarf

So stay tuned, the show is up to 1963, still a prime scarf wearing era

Photo I Wished I Took
Granted, there are many, but this one is special. Taken by the amazing fashion photographer, Horst, in 1963 for Vogue magazine, featured in an 8 page spread of corseted, girdled, lingeried models, all with their heads covered and draped in scarves. I was jealous when I first saw the photo and I still am, there is just something about this that works, the line of her body extended by the held scarf (???), it is the best of the 8 pages, yummy

All Good Things
Skimming the newspaper, this publicity photo for the new movie All Good Things caught my eye. What was hanging on the dressing table mirror, could it be, might it be, yes it is a scarf. Did the woman just come in, slipped off her scarf or is the scarf only set dressing, it's only role. The movie didn't get a good review, will I see it for scarf potential, definitely. Anyone else ever see a film because of a flicker of a scarf tease?
